The sentence "Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose" was written by Gertrude Stein as part of the 1913 poem "Sacred Emily", which appeared in the 1922 book Geography and Plays. In that poem, the first "Rose" is the name of a person.
My Rose, she was black, beautiful, elegant, sophisticated, and educated. A role model emulated as a blueprint for achieving "the dream" that with enough determination, sacrifice didnt seem hard for her to do, it may have been garnered by skill and strategy yet, she made appear like learning how to dance following in her footsteps.
But,as I developed into my own woman becoming a Rose wasn't easy as it seemed. Those qualities were defined by years of being disciplined, using common sense leaning on her intuitive nature. All those things I lacked, had no exposure to but, from the distance thought "if she could do it surely I could too. Imitation is the best form of flattery, but that too was impossible. God only made one Rose 🌹 Uniquely
It wasn't her outward appearance, or prosperous achievements that made her illuminate, but was her inner beauty like roses strong stems a few thorns, but years of pruning, nurturing, and having been planted in good soil, gives a flower solid foundation to come into full bloom to be loved and admired. That takes time and patience.
God only made one so beautiful and gave her to me. My Rose 🌹 her beauty and grace will always live eternally. She planted enough seeds in the women she inspired her Soros and community. Her mission was education. Because knowledge is POWER. The POWER to control your own strategies and destiny, in order to make sound decisions and have great discernment even under tough persuasion. Remain respectful, dignified and civilized especially in mixed company. And always, conduct yourself as 'a Lady'. Teach people how to treat you.
