MARVELOUS

GETTING TO KNOW GOD FOR MYSELF

Faith to believe God's word is the very essence of receiving the promises that He says we can have. As a Christian that Scripture in Romans10:17 “... Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”, gives us knowledge on how faith comes, by taking in God's word.

CAN MY BISHOP PREACH ME  INTO HEAVEN?

I was raised in the 1960's  a community where your parents made you go to church and on the way pick up friends along the way and could walk to church on Sunday morning to attend Sunday School at 9AM until young folks church started. In 1968 I joined a baptist church while my parents were still members (AME) African.Methodist Episcopal

Well, needless to say we'd  go to the corner store called "Spic n Span," and spend our plate money .25 cents or less on junk on Grant St then walk up the hill slow to church one Sunday morning we found an envelope packed full with dollars.. woops testi-fying now!

Anyway, I bet you think we took it right up to Pastor Stroman and confessed we told him what we found, he stood us up in front of everyone and said what a great deed we did not only bringing what belong to the Heavenly Father into the storehouse but not stealing which is a sin before our GOD. Nope didn't happen.

Well, we went back to Spic n Span and I ain't gonna indite anybody else; BUT GOD did witness that event. We did go into Sunday School skipping that day. I sang in the choir and can sing too, got baptized at 8 years old without coaxing. Then on another ocassion I went along with family friends to see and hear Gospel singer the late Gloria Spencer ( the original fat lady that could sing), for you old timers and when I received the holy ghost for the first time at about 12; to be honest my life has never been the same or easy.. I ran away from my call similar to the guy who got swallowed by in the belly of a whale!!!! Except it was the world that swallowed me whole.

It's Marvelous because GOD has been covering me like stink on u know what ever since..He was just waiting for me "to come to myself" and to this day I often fall short of His Glory.

I've never forgot that bad decision not to take that money back to Church. LORD knows where it would have led me instead somedays I feel like a few of my other hardheaded brothers and sisters who are biblically described. We often miss the whole point Sin is Sin if you break 1 commandment you've broken all 10 commandments. There is no big or little sin it will all land you in the same hell prepared for those of us who think we've gotten away.....

I'm not ordained but maybe I shoulda been, then I use to sing had strong chops too so maybe I shoulda been a great singer, or since I was raised with edicate, well educated not in private schools but I did attend and graduated from one of the best Public schools that DC had to offer.   At the time and my mother was well liked within the community so I had a good start and could launch just about anything.... but like I use to say to my children "when we are growing up, (and we are always growing up even as adults), picture life like a fence which has a broad steel pole fence that your walking down. It's a long walk to get to the other end so you must balance yourself evenly because; IF you straddle the fence too long you might fall off, depending on what side of the fence you fall down on you need a strong foundation to get back up on the fence to walk it out to the end. But If you fall down on the wrong side w/o that foundation you may end up in a pit not hell. The pits" as we call it or "Rock Bottom"
That's how simple I broke it down at the dinner table one evening for my two then adolescent children, but it wasn't that simple for me because I did straddle the fence and fell down.

Donnie McClurkin's ministry the Pastor & Psalmist preclaims "We Fall Down but we get up" that's GOD's divinity and agape what we can't phathom unless you study the history and prove yourself in HIS sight. See I grew up in the church went to church all the time can shout and sing. I do speak in tongues don't care how you recieve that because I serve a Mighty GOD...
I'm not running for office nor do I represent any ministry. I do support Bishop TD Jakes and him only at this time is who I seek my guidance and teaching from. Not promoting him just saying whats working for me now. My bottom line is no matter how much my Bishop is ordained and blessed to deliver the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ whom I believe in, that's not going to get me delivered. Jesus paved the way for me and you to come directly to the source we need.

Finally as a suggestion and it works for me, but your experience could be different just as a disclaimer, our relationship with GOD is unique as our fingerprints.

Read and study whatever religion you serve hopefully it's GOD because times are changing people. I admire the men of GOD who preach to us to inspire us to do better financially become self entrapeneurs - so anyway

My message is to say going to church is always nice on your resume and in the whole community. You have to GET SERIOUS about your faith walk, and  if you are given instructions on Sunday, and don't see your notes again until next Sunday. You ain't up on your game. I want to go deeper right here so I don't give the wrong impression most people join organized religion always seeking higher ground but to where and why?

Yes, giving a tithe is important all of us should honor that; yes serving your fellowman each day; but do we love one another as He loves us. I realize some people study the bible just to sound good at it.. not saying they aren't sincere but my topic is to ponder about your relationship with GOD it's personal so I really am not gonna say comment about this. It's a personal question sit alone with this one.

Dust off your KJV Bibles, Torrah, Korans and read them because we are all living in a period of time we all act like spoiled children who are all accustomed to having their way who enjoy a loving GOD that does supply and provides for us each and every day.

Serve, Trust and LOVE GOD call on him don't fear or be ashamed to know HIM. See I don't get paid for this - So I better give time to the ONE and only EL Elyon the great I AM who provides all  for me. I just put it out there what you do with it is on you...

Just as a reminder... Housekeeping rules

GOD SEES YOU AND IS AWARE OF EVERYTHING THAT WE DO.

Simply Marvelous...

How did Christmas start? "As" lyrics featuring Stevie Wonder

How did Christmas Start?

excerpt from the Re posted CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS - THE REAL MEANING  2005 @http://empoweringspiritsfreeingurmind.blogspot.com/2013/12/re-posted-celebrating-christmas-real.html

Since about 400 AD, Christians have celebrated the birth of Jesus. 'Christ' means 'Messiah' or 'Anointed One' - the title given to Jesus - and 'Mass' was a religious festival.
In the West today, the real meaning of Christmas is often forgotten. It has become a non-religious holiday! More children believe in Father Christmas than in Jesus. Christmas Day is a time for eating and drinking too much and watching television.

But the real Christmas story is found in the Christian Bible. It is told in two different books: Matthew and Luke chapters 1 and 2. If you have no Bible, you can read these chapters online. You may think that the story of the birth of Jesus, and the way that the West celebrates Christmas today, do not seem to have many connections.

Mary says "yes"

These chapters tell how Jesus was born as a baby to Mary. This was no ordinary birth! She was not married, she was a virgin, (yes, really!) and an angel had told her she would bear a special baby. Her husband-to-be, Joseph, did not believe her at first. Who would? Then an angel told him in a dream that it was true! Probably no one else believed it. So when they had to travel from their home in Nazareth to Bethlehem (near Jerusalem), to register their names with the ruling Roman government, they probably escaped many hard words from other people.
Arrival in Bethlehem brought worry and upset: there was no room for them to stay at the hotel. There was only space in the stable - the animal house for travellers' donkeys and horses.
Jesus was born that night, and as they had no bed for him, they used an animal feeding box filled with the dry grass the animals ate.

Christmas cards and pictures today make it all seem very nice. In truth, it must have been dirty and frightening for a young couple, far from their home and families. Possibly the birth was premature after the stress of the journey. This was a very poor place for Jesus to start his life on earth.

God's plan?
Christians believe that it was exactly God's plan that things happened this way. They say that it shows that Jesus came as a humble, poor person and not as a strong, rich king. They also claim that the birth of Jesus was told many years before in the books of the prophets.
Five hundred years before, the prophet Micah had said,
"But you Bethlehem, though you are small, out of you will come for me, one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

The prophet Isaiah had written,
"A child is born to us! A son is given to us! And he will be our ruler.
He will be called, "Wonderful Counsellor," "Mighty God," "Eternal Father," "Prince of Peace." His royal power will continue to grow; his kingdom will always be at peace....
He will rule as King David's successor, basing his power on right and justice, from now until the end of time."

These are only two of many prophetic words that told of the birth and life of Jesus, written hundreds of years before His birth.

The shepherds are frightened

At that time, sheep farmers were seen by other people as low and of no value. Yet it was to these shepherds that the birth of Jesus was first announced in an amazing dramatic way:
"That night there were some men looking after sheep in the fields nearby. Suddenly they saw a great light. It was an angel, who said, Don't be afraid. I have good news for you, and for all people. Someone great has been born today. He is Christ, the great King you have been waiting for. He will save you from all that is wrong and evil. You will find him dressed in baby clothes, lying on a bed of dry grass.'"

The story of the wise men
After Jesus was born, wise men came to look for Him, from an area which is now in either Iran or Saudi Arabia. Although they are often called the "Three Kings", the Bible does not say how many there were, or that they were kings. Three is only a guess because they brought with them three gifts. Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh

They were certainly men of learning - probably today we would call them philosophers or scientists. They had seen an unusual new star in the sky, and knew that it told of the birth of a special king. (The star they saw was probably a exploding "supernova" and is known from astronomical records.) They followed the direction of the star- East - and eventually found the place where Mary, Joseph and Jesus were staying. To bring honour to the child, they brought rich gifts: gold, frankincense (a resin which burns with a beautiful smell), and myrrh (plant oil with a very strong sweet smell). These gifts tell us in pictures three key things about Jesus:

Gold: a gift fit for a King
Frankincense: burnt in worship of God
Myrrh: a sign of mortal human-ness - it was used to bury the dead

Jesus a refugee
Herod, the evil king of the area, heard about the child, saw Him as a threat, and sent soldiers to kill Jesus. But God told Joseph in a dream to take Mary and the baby and escape to Egypt. They lived there till King Herod died and then went back to live in Nazareth. We read nothing more about the life of Jesus, except for one story when he was 12, until He reached 30. By the way - note one important thing: Jesus was not a white European, and Christianity is not a Western religion. Christmas cards from different countries often show Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the landscape of that country, and with the racial appearance of that nationality, be it black African, Indian, or Japanese. This is good and right - Jesus came to identify with every racial group. He is "Everyman" for us all.

"As"

Songs In The Key Of Life. It was written by Stevie Wonder.

As around the sun the earth knows she's revolving
And the rose buds know to bloom in early May
Just as hate knows love's the cure you can rest your mind assure
That I'll be loving you always

As now can't reveal the mystery of tomorrow
But in passing we'll grow older every day
Just as all that's born is new you know what I say is true
That I'll be loving you always

Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky, always
Until the ocean covers every mountain high, always
Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea, always
Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream

Did you know true love asks for nothing  And acceptance is the way we pay?
Did you know life has given love a guarantee  To last through forever and another day?

Just as time knew to move on since the beginning
And the seasons know exactly when to change
Just as kindness knows no shame know through all your joy and pain
That I'll be loving you always

Until the day is night and night becomes the day, always
Until the trees and seas just up and fly away, always
Until the day that 8x8x8 is 4, always
Until the day that is the day that are no more

As today I know I'm living, but tomorrow Could make me the past, but that I mustn't fear
For I know deep in my mind the love of me I've left behind  'Cause I'll be loving you always

Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky, always
Until the ocean covers every mountain high, always
Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea, always
Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream

We all know sometimes life's hates and troubles  Can make you wish you were born in another time and space But you can bet your life times that and twice its double
That God knew right where He wanted you to be placed

Until the day is night and night becomes the day, always
Until the trees and seas just up and fly away, always
Until the day that 8x8x8 is 4, always
Until the day that is the day that are no more

Always

I'M BETTER THAN THIS

I'm Better Than This

Date: Monday, September 19, 2005
By: Bishop T. D. Jakes, Special to BlackAmericaWeb.com

There are some people who go through a complete metamorphosis in life. They change from the old sinful, nasty talking, whoremongering, pornography internet surfing, crack smoking, lying, thieving person they used to be into an entirely new person.
In fact some of the people you work with, go to church with or live in your neighborhood have come out of a past that you would not believe! Fortunately for us, there is nothing too extreme for God to erase from our past. He can take the gutter-most to the uttermost at anytime and anywhere.
The Apostle Paul came out of a troubled past. I mean he had major issues. He was a controversial misfit, a terrorist murderer and a God hater. Yet he is the most prolific writer of the New Testament. Without his input, we would not know how to truly relate to God and enjoy the benefits of having a relationship with Him.

After the Damascus Road experience, Paul turned his entire life over to Christ. God saved him, but no one wanted anything to do with him. Isn’t it amazing how you can make a complete turnaround in your life and people will still treat you like you’re nothing?

Some of the most inspiring messages you will ever hear from people who have been through anything, came as a result of their greatest messes. Paul was once the “chief” of sinners, but he excelled in ministry because he was confident in who he was in Christ.

Once you accept Jesus, your identification changes and so does your position in life. All the old stuff is erased through forgiveness and you become a new creature in Christ. He paid the price for every sin you will ever commit when He gave up His life on the cross. In other words, He’s already paid the debt you would otherwise owe.

Look at it this way, if I paid off your mortgage, the mortgage company would have no right to call you about a bill ever again. It’s paid for! That’s what the enemy tries to do when he uses other people to bring up your past. He tries to convince you that you’re the same person you used to be. However, once you realize who you are in Christ, you can look your accusers straight in the eye and tell them, “I’m better than this!”

You may be working through some things right now – we all are – but you can change your condition by aligning yourself with your position. As God’s child, you have a right to the best life has to offer.

It’s time to live. People may be used to seeing you live with a defeated mentality, fear or insecurity, but you’re better than that now. Start acting like it and begin pursuing the things God is showing you in your dreams. Believe me; the things you see in your dreams are more real than the things you see with your eyes. It’s time to step out into new territory and like Paul, forget those things that are behind and press toward the great things that lie ahead. Now pursue!

This excerpt was taken from the series entitled I’m Better Than This.
