An Essay EMBRACING CHANGE CONFRONTING THE FEAR of LIVING & BEYOND

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" 

(2 Tim. 1:7)

 Thought: Fear knocked at the door Faith answered. No one was there. 

 Many years ago I listened as a friend of mine shared in a anonymous meeting he was very articulate and said that prior to getting clean the one thing he feared most was change, but being a man meant standing perpendicular before GOD and when he had made a decision to turn his will and life over to the care of GOD that replaced all of his fear. Then he said something that most people don't say in those closed meetings instead using the term "God of my understanding" or "Higher Power" he said the name of Jesus Christ. The room was quiet as he spoke loudly and bold and later those comments were made people refer to him as a spiritual giant he begged to differ by responding to them by simply saying "I'm no spiritual giant but there is a GIANT in my spirit."

That takes a lot of courage for anyone to admit to have any fears at all publicly, but many of us do. We often become complacent or get comfortable with our lives then don't realize that when we aren't challenging ourselves often we become stale, stagnate, and we stunt our growth. It's like eating the same thing for dinner every other day because it's routine quick and easy then on Saturday you treat yourself to fast food at McDonald's at the same spot order the same thing and every time it tastes good until one day it loses the appeal and taste. Another analogy would be to wear the same hairstyle everyday for a period of time never change the way you comb it even part your hair the same place. The hair style that used to get compliments somehow appears dull and played out.

Change comes often and people evolve just as quickly as the seasons change. We work hard at perfecting a routine with our friends, lovers, or spouses only to look up one day and find that they have drifted off in another direction and many times instead of accepting the fact we either run or walk quickly in the opposite direction because we lose the stamina to embrace them where they are at and the same thing holds true when we experience changes in our lives a need to shift gears or do something different to improve ourselves. We can also shift into reverse gear and do some things that destroy our character and ruin relationships.

But one thing that is constant in change, if nothing changes, nothing changes. As the saying goes where ever you go there you are. So you can't be afraid of what we understand or don't understand in life or death, sometimes it has no explanation. So many of us are never prepared financially, mentally, or spiritually and the end result is devastation.

When we are young their is a feeling that we will live forever or are invincible, can leap tall buildings in a single bound. As we mature and experience life we get some hard knocks and realize that some of those buildings just a tad to steep to leap across. That's when we become more practical in some cases people just ignore the facts. Some die young or live miserably because they foolishly believe they can trick life and end up the trick. Pay now or pay later the bill is always in the mail and one day you have to pay. So if you living in a comfort zone, maybe it's time to raise the bar a little, you can always become better - strive for change. Remain teachable, humble, and lovable. Don't be afraid to embrace change - because if you living a fruitful life you can surely count on an eternal peace when you exit the building (your body) a living temple.

We never know what God's plan is for us - remember that it's okay to make the plans but you can never plan the outcome.

Faith and hope is your best weapon to overcoming fear. Prayer is your insurance policy. Love is unconditional keep an open heart and willing mind. Even when it seems like your down you might be down but not out. Like my friend said look straight up stand perpendicular to GOD. Fear not. As Human beings we fall short and have many shortcomings but GOD has never failed or come up short. Fact we can count on the sunrise and sunset. Fact we know that there is a moon and will always come out in a way shape or form. We know that the seasons will change and we always prepare for those changes. Just like us we go through many seasons in life, but If we can trust GOD to do all of that, we can trust Him with our own changes that affect our lives today. Just for today, we can hope for a tomorrow and plan ahead. But no matter how it all turns out we embrace it with humility without beating our chest in vain glory.

Our faith shows us what we cannot see.

An idea begins with a thought and then is brought forward into reality. An artist sees the painting in his mind before it ever touches the canvas. He touches the canvas until what was inside of his mind sets before him and the passion makes him more eager to bring it forth. Imagination is just an image in our mind we decide when begin - to make it a reality. Most of us go to bed at night convinced that surely they are waking up in the morning and that's okay too. That's called having faith.

Faith without works is dead being alone - change should not be feared but reverenced. It takes courage to color outside the lines step outside the box- change is an inside job with you the individual and often has a ripple effect on others. If Beyonce wakes up in the morning and decided to go short, blond, and curly. Just by changing her mind she will influence females to go blonder, short, and curly too because it looks so good on her, they are convinced that look surely will look good on me too.

Change allows you the luxury of knowing who really is for you and whoever stays around to see that person evolve til the end are the ones you come to love and trust. These are the people who are not afraid to be honest with you right or wrong, good or bad. They are your mirror, mirror on the wall. Always have one friend that won't lie to you even when it hurts and you can be reciprocal in love, spirits, and truth. Nine times out of ten this is the person you probably have even taken for granted along the way. Embracing Change brings you face to face with love, love of self, life, and GOD.

The Tongue gives choice to speak anything into existence even the desires of our heart.

Negative Words are very detrimental it can be the curse to change the entire trajectory of your life I see them as the Artillery a thought in your mind but once its out of your mouth goes straight into the Wind

It carries your words straight to GODS EARs! Once it leaves your lips what you say is a prayer of petition. That's why you pray in the Name of Jesus Christ, it's a done deal. "Be Careful What You Pray for, You Just Might Get It!"

 Positive Words you speak can uplift your character and encourage you during any test its like currency (money) which increases

 "Faith" 

Strength for the journey (the footwork) towards your Destiny

Be Still and Wait
Trust GODs Timing

If you have a conscious mind to listen before you speak, ears that can hear and never allow other people negative thoughts or perceptions of you become your reflection ....

 So many people are suffering and small businesses are collapsing due to the manipulation of men. We can all enjoy prosperity it's more than enough in this world. Please you radical haters don't believe I'm a flaming socialist because that's so not true, I love you too and want you to prosper in life. Be comfortable and know we can all exist and enjoy our portion. Problem is everybody wants to be in control or to control authority even to bargain with GOD based on the size of your tithe. I believe the book of Acts illustrates how GOD views that ritual, all of it belongs to Him if he wants it all back give it to Him... And by no means take all the credit for achievements accomplished because GOD is a jealous GOD he loves shout outs. Why cause it helps the doubters believe in An Infinite power so yes He'll bring up Men inspired to do good i.e., T.D.Jakes, as most leaders He has raised up the real ones will stand out above the ones who are false put it this way, Bishop is God's Man. So if I had to come under a Man of God as Pastor he mine... I've learned so much about being a wholesome christian, some days I don't even believe how much GOD has moved in my path to demonstrate that I'm not running nothing. I had spiritual constipation because I wanted to pray then take the credit for the achievement.

Living in these days that's seems absurd people automatically think it's weakness, but I beg you People of Faith or searching for an answer; He illustrates how the people building the tower of Babel tongues were confounded; King David indiscretions by taking advantage of his power in sleeping with another mans Urieh 's wife Bathsheba.  Who slept at his front door, instead of going home to be with his wife, committed and loyal to King David's throne. Conspired to cover up the adultery then orchestrating his death sending him to battle on the front line as a means of covering up the crime.. 


The cover up is always worse than the crime! Everyone is down with that in this day in time and GOD still watching and if he corrected King David who worshiped and adored GOD, who are we as a Nation that should get away free?

WORDS of MASS Destruction is the cause of many maladies cause problems... Wickedness is inbred meaning that we all have sinned and do so on a daily basis it has no color basis.
As Human beings we need to stop beating up on one another and trying to make one feel that perfection exist. It doesn't in this dimension. It exists, but we all must atone even you my friend. We may fellowship but each person is accountable by knowing GOD for yourself; with Jesus as your advocate in Heaven meaning you must come to a point in your life to accept Christ in your heart is a intimate decision. That's definitely a case by case basis. 
Yet not one of us even my Bishop can claim perfection this is what we strive for into eternity. WMD is the tongue once we learn to control it and LOVE one another color won't matter..... not one bit! Speak LIFE to loved ones and friends instead of lies, rumors, and gossip. Stop trying to straighten out someone else's business and work on your own. My take on it is that even during these hard times unemployment rising, foreclosures, homelessness; the celebrity sites are booming with gossip about this celeb and that rap artist.. In other words even if the grass looks greener in your friends backyard just stay focus on you and water the grass in your own yard. Put energy into showing respect for others and a kind word from time to time.

Well, most of those terrible things that are taking place in our homeland today I believe not what nobody done said is of how we treat our fellow Americans and take much for granted. con't below;

We live in a democracy and our republic allows freedom of expression, differences of opinions at the end of the debate in a free society composed of many races, creeds, and colors we learn how to Unite as one Nation*

It's just this simple if you can't say anything nice; don't say nothing at all. Those unkind words, thoughts, which become deeds could hurt someone you love or care about.

We learn how to "Compromise"

Footnote* Debate is healthy when you debate facts surrounding problems in order to achieve a common goal that benefits all not just a few. 

 America is a land full of immigrants and most of these people against immigration and President Obama neglect this fact we all traveled by boat to get here all races except the AZTEC, Comanche, Navajo, Black Foot, nameless Native American tribes all on reservations in this country in poverty as we speak... now they're flaming more division by talking of repealing the 14th Amendment. GOD is all over our pledge of allegiance, Declaration of Independence; Constitution, and saved the best for last our Money

"In GOD We Trust," 

Hateful speeches and puppet dolls dangling to disrespect our first African American President Obstructing our government by withholding a congressional vote in order to benefit only 1 group of individuals. I was listening to the figures of what the companies would have to pay based on profit level of small business $400 pays $12k more in taxes once tax cuts expire so they rather see this country collapse instead of vote to give small businesses help which would help the really small businesses 1 man entrepreneurs hire helpers Americans who take money directly to retailers for cars, clothes, this is the average worker the major consumer's. Sending jobs overseas is their policy in order to give away $millions in bonuses yet they upset about expiring tax cuts and paying higher taxes, I struggle to get to work pay check to paycheck and living in a modest small room. But I thank GOD for it as if it were a mansion and will continue to give Him praises & honor for all that I have life, liberty, and  a chance to achieve prosperity. 

I leaned my lesson by being humble, and controlling the words the flow out of  my mouth, and better than that how I treat and approach others. That's not easy everyday. I still cuss... All kidding aside. So this might seem preachy, political, and OMG how dare she go there to those who know me but if you live long enough you pray hard enough GOD can and will change your life if you really seek to serve Him, I'm always praying for Him to keep me humble enough to be led and taught by good leaders raised up by Him. That I have the strength to come under authority let somebody love me and take some risk by faith, speak life into your life and the lives of others stop being so hateful if you can't help a brother out as a hand up don't say a negative comment ~ and for those who feel pitiful or pity others stop that, speak life over that person, you too are highly favored and truly blessed even when you can't see it! Doesn't mean I trust every human being that crosses my path but I can be more patient and understanding while they are journeying onward and if I can assist in anyway be willing if GOD makes me able or given me enough to do the right by others. A hand up not a hand out.. theirs a difference.

Take time before you speak to understand the power you hold; you may consider it as insignificant. The way words may come across to whatever group of people you hang out with ( your inner circle or outer circle) that value your opinion{s}. Be mindful that when you prophesy or project negative words then later to find out it came around. 

Speak life to some body's life, and be encouraging. Learn how to step out on faith when a situation appears hopeless; learn to stop hating long enough to listen and discern what makes sense vs. what is just mean spirited; ignorance; or plain old wasted energy.  These are the people who believe in the same Jesus I believe in yet they forget is last commandment "

12 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

13 Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive].

14 And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].

16 Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.

17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.

**By Faith you can wake up to live another day don't quit just try, try again.....be Mindful of the"Words", - that come out of your mouth and the deeds that follow, negative words bring on a bad day; positive words, bring about a better attitude towards yourself and others so smile find the pathway to brighter days.........

Jeremiah 32:19 great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve.

Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall

But, once the clouds roll by the rain dries up, we've grown from the Storms of Life waterfalls. 

Known as the Emerald Isle, Ireland is so green because it receives a lot of precipitation. Typical winter weather in Ireland is clouds and rain with the occasional sunny spell, also the Amazon Forest are examples the beautiful landscapes and the Tallest Trees.

As trees grow, they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. Trees provide many benefits to us, every day. 

Without them we'd slowly die. Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. During the process of photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen we breathe.

This is their "Purpose" to protecting all life on this Planet.

As humans, we have Purpose driven lives that most of us never realize, or those that do feel the burden of living it out day by day. Taking the bitter with the sweet we make plans with high expectations anticipating success or watching as our hands are tied powerless to do anything  painful experiences. It's not coincidence. GOD has brought us into this World to fulfil his purpose once our purpose in this life has be served at the appointed time the journey ends. Our reward for staying "on purpose" is eternal life, a legacy that reflects our footprint on Earth in this life; full of faith, hope, and charity. 

Colossians 1:16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

Many real women have had at least one indiscretion where she didn’t want to fall for or become somebody’s mistress, which often always results in a broken heart on all sides, and yes the family does suffer through the crisis. Yet as I was growing up the black women in my community handled these matters so indiscreetly that you still spoke with respect to an, Aunties, best girlfriend or Ms. Gotchaman from across the street whose always having lots of different guys around.. my childhood memories.. Another time I can remember another sister taking a wine bottle wrapped in her man’s boxer shorts and throwing it through the mistress patio door shattering the glass and then slashing tires…. He moved out it was over and only a few us knew what had happened loved her through the pain and humiliation. The woman knew who did it but never could identify anything but the drawers..

I recall my mother demonstrating what kiss my ass meant using sign language to Ms. Gotchaman.. no words were ever spoken, so you mean from my childhood trauma of watching mother bend over pull her panties down and tell another woman kiss her ass she thought was sleeping with my father, which still brings me to tears in laughter at this very moment. She or I could have sued Ms. Gotchaman for $$$.. It would have paid for a nice college tuition at best.

No I’m not feeling that lawsuit the NBA player’s spouse is claiming against Gabrielle Union even if it does stink to all hell. Gabby was wrong but who are we to judge, he/she who is without sin please cast the first stone and let GOD be all of their judge, its painful but why draw more pain by making it a public shame.


Does anybody come out the winner, nope I don’t think so and the kids continue to be humiliated privately about a public scandal. Celebrities are human beings who also wake up with the same requirements except they have exposure to more tangible things.. Feelings and desires are usually human they suffer too. Chris Brown still struggling back from a very public private matter.

Where do we draw the line between what is for public consumption vs. private enlightenment; why do we enjoy consuming other folks misery; scripture points to the fact that we ought to pray when any of us suffers this level of public humiliation all parties need encouragement and for folks to stop acting like you never been a “tramp” once or flirted hard with somebody else’s man.


Personally, I’ve been on either side if you check out this chick flick “It’s Complicated that is the perfect analogy. The experts in the law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught committing adultery. They made her stand in front of them 8:4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery. 8:5 In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death such women. What then do you say?” 8:6 (Now they were asking this in an attempt to trap him, so that they could bring charges against him.) Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger. 8:7 when they persisted in asking him, he stood up straight and replied, “Whoever among you is guiltless may be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8:8 then he bent over again and wrote on the ground.

8:9 Now when they heard this, they began to drift away one at a time, starting with the older ones, until Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 8:10 Jesus stood up straight and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 8:11 She replied, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you either. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”
