Dedicated to the memory of all who've died in America due to racial injustice

I recall finding an old jet magazine at my grandmothers house and they always reflect on Civil Rights movement tragedies that evolved into a movement.  Back in those days it was the "Negro Race", prior to that we we're Colored or Nigger.  Color in America defines a story of love, and hate but one country.

We' as a people were not easily surprised but often terrorized by the majority race White folk as my Grandmother would say, She raised my mother with manners in the South, yes ma'am, and thank you, please, yes sir because you couldn't disrespect or dishonor your family by appearing ignorant which was passed down.  So we were taught to not make direct eye contact with a white person, be mannerable always, never dispute them in public.

Then it changed, Emmett Till a young teenager whose being raised by a single parent goes to visit relatives for a summer vacation/work/education.  Those days the sent you to South to learn discipline how to become responsible enjoy different environment and just be a kid.  Well, he went to visit his uncle and go to get some candy with his cousins he was 14 years old when he broke a rule of the South.  He whistled at a white woman that night while the house was dark everyone asleep when two or more men came to his uncles house in Mississippi they threatened the entire family and abducted took the young man.  Beat him, mutilated his body tied a fan around his neck and dropped his body in the river.  When he was found his body bloated from mold & decay the put him in a box and sent him home to his mother she put the body on display and Jet magazine recalled that story.

Fourteen-year-old Emmett Till was visiting relatives in Money, Mississippi on August 24, 1955 when he reportedly flirted with a white cashier at a grocery store. Four days later, two white men kidnapped Till, beat him, and shot him in the head. The men were tried for murder, but an all-white, male jury acquitted them. Till's murder and open casket funeral galvanized the emerging civil rights movement.

Emmett Louis Till was born on July 25, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the only child of Louis and Mamie Till. Till never knew his father, a private in the United States Army during World War II. Mamie and Louis Till separated in 1942, and three years later, in 1945, the family received word from the army that the soldier had been executed for "willful misconduct" while serving in Italy.

Not only were his killers acquitted by an all white jury his mother fought for years to find justice & peace with this verdict, (out of respect for the dead I will not post a picture of what I saw in Jet Magazine that day) you could feel her pain.  I thought he was a monster, because of my age not mature enough to fully grasp this hideous photograph why did she do that is what I thought. I was in total disbelief because I had no exposure to racism.  My community was tight knitted we had a few inter-racial families, I remember not seeing many white people only when I visited my grandmother in Virginia where she knew and had neighbors who were white and it was no open discrimination in Northern Virginia that I can recall.  So when I read this piece it shocked me almost to this day I'm still frightened by the photos of his dead mutilated body.  Racism is a sometimes passionate and divisive conversation because nobody wants to admit ill will especially when it comes to race.  We've learned how to tolerate sweeping it all under the rug shrug and say well that just the way it is... hmmm how sad.  The two men who tortured and murdered a fourteen year old boy on summer vacation getting candy from a store were able to sell their story to Look Magazine shortly after their aquittal and because of the times double jeopardy did not apply nor did our federal government have ANY Civil Rights Bills on the books.  We as a nation of Negros in the 50's just had to pray, and get over it.  Move on.  But it brought about a "Movement" shortly thereafter Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus, which propelled Martin Luther King, Jr into the spotlight the rest is history.

Since then we've seen amazing change in our nation but none of it ever addresses the real issue of our suffering in a nation who only gave us rights 50 years ago.  Most immigrants came of their own free will to America, well most of your 5th & 6th generation African Americans families whose ancestors have been here since the beginning through it all.  My family  is one of them.  So I can stand proudly and boldly and say my grandfather's served in WWI, my father served WWII, and my great, great last name is Turner.  You figure it out. It was a since of pride history we are entitled to respect, true equality, and to be treated justly.  Enough already 21st Century and this is still a silent issue.

 Through the generations our heritage has known much agony, much defeat, much pain & suffering.  Black man's life isn't worth a plug nickel today vs 450 yrs ago in this nation.  Once upon a time he was a commodity being auctioned on the block torn from his family often as a teenaged boy only to being profiled in a free society stopped and frisked and place in jail for misdemeanor crimes, that still profits off our labor the criminal justice system has been doing this since the 60's makes money for private owned prisons.  Then you have the sports, entertainment, well that has always been our only foot in the door being able to entertain our audience now our children earn millions of dollars promoting materialism.  The "Good Life" when really only 03 percent are among the upper 1 percent in America's wealthiest.  So we live vicariously through another mans wealth and they market knockoff attire to make us feel we are living larger than life.  Accruing debt and at times more crimes.  Drugs, porn, you name it more young women think that hair nails & make and a nice outfit will attract $ mo money.  We lost a sense of pride.  Times have changed depending on your view of it and perspective it has become a free for all.  Polarized Nation.  Right & Left, Wrong &Right, and Democrat vs. Republicans vs Tea Party vs Independents we all have opinions.

The Elephant in the room means when people ignore the issues and pretend nothings wrong all is well.

Well, Trayvon Martin trial and outcome brought all of those feelings back. That Jury found him guilty of being black, in the right place at the wrong time.  George Zimmerman profiled this teenager, stalked, and confronted him. then when young Mr. Martin fought for his life, stood his ground and was shot through the heart.

 How can a teenage boy on the phone talking with earplugs, a bag of skittles, and Arizona Tea in the rain coming home from 7Eleven get shot through the heart?  How is it that in 2013 an all white woman jury couldn't find any crime in a 27 year old man stalking, profiling on tape, then confront shoot to kill him not wound him use a stun gun so he could spare his life never identified himself as a Neighborhood Watch Captain.  My son would have fought him too.  Six people heard and saw a poorly presented argument by the State of Florida Prosecution team and were left to reasonable doubt poorly collected forensic evidence because this never was a murder investigation but a John Doe. They deliberate with and find a verdict of Not Guilty?  Boggles the mind even listening to the 911 calls I could hear my son's cry for the first time in my life I feel afraid.  If you can't get pass ideologs and Fox News spin on it they made this about Race spinning lies and division instead of reporting the facts.  George Zimmerman was found Not Guilty by a jury of his peers.  I have to accept that because it was America's due process, verdict was rendered.  Move on?  We will but our voices will be heard because here again is another example of fear and injustice proved out by Gun Violence against a person that was a victim of a crime.

  I like others will not accept that he's innocent, but his defense team did their job and gave him the best defense.    The State of Florida should be under investigation for how this entire crime was handled. They were reluctant to bring a case against him but public outrage brought about an arrest a trial and a verdict.

  I'm not a reporter but just a mom who loves everyone not against white, blacks, latino, asian, muslims, christians, hindu, whatever whoever I believe in God's last commandment "Love Thy Neighbor as you your Love Yourself".  It's the "Rules of Law"  Man didn't write that one and if I had to judge we'd all be convicted. Guilty as Charged and most of us believe in eternal life... So GOD will forgive but only he can judge a man for his deeds and Karma is infinite.  Bible also say's "You Reap what you Sow."  

So at the end of the day, America we need to work on healing the issues of race and false sense of white superiority and recognize that it still exists and many of my friends who aren't black know it still exist but at least we are friends despite their upbringing and outside family influences same goes for me.  I have family members who don't like or trust white people they see them as the enemy.  They think they're better than us, is how they regard them, well I have an open mind and a big heart I am a christian and don't like to brag about because folks turn around and wanna judge your habits instead of how you walk and treat others.  We need to hang out with each other more often and not be afraid to ask a intimate question about a person culture.  Slavery was bad, Ku Klux Klan traumatized a nation for years a lot of families where destroyed, we never had equal anything subculture, our education and resources are still substandard compared to thriving communities.  Let's be real minimum wage jobs can not get a women off welfare.  Just because Barack Obama is the President of the United States, he still get's treated with major disrespect from opposing party and their constituency.  People always finding a way to find a negative out of something we hold honorable and good.  He gives me a sense of pride as a Black America, African American, Colored, and Negro Woman.  So this is my tribute to Trayvon memory that just because the judicial system found him not guilty doesn't mean justice was served it failed Emmett Till update Mike Brown Ferguson, St. Louis MO; and Trayvon Martin almost 60 years later after his killers were acquitted.

SERENITY PRAYER ACCEPT ~ COURAGE ~ WISDOM

Who is without flaw?

God grant me the Serenity to Accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Today I began to write in response to my feelings, being inspired by the talking heads on TV and once I completed the first draft I accidentally hit the wrong button and poof it was gone... just like that.

My initial reaction was frustration, and anxious because I had alot to say and wanted to get it out here before this afternoon, but GOD had better plans.

Being half awake and hungry, my words were knee jerk reactions to the topic's of the day not positive reaction I lost my focus my ministry of spreading some good news about the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and how He can work in your life too.  Also how all of this will work together for His good! 

Well, it's voting season and here we stand once again at a crucial crossroads one that can change the entire course we all worked so hard to accomplish in 2008 AND 2012.

But, once again I must call upon my Faith in order to become more rational in my thought process about how all of this controversy will pan out.

As a Family we can strike a mighty blow to this mid-term election.

I believe the Democrats will achieve their goal to maintain the direction of this current Administration's strategy and vision for a New direction of our Nation.  If they stop being traumatized by the Congressional Republicans and the Tea Party candidates, Donald Trump (Won) and Ted Cruz running in this upcoming election  2016.

The Democrats need to run on their own record and stop taking on the Republican party, and talk about their vision for the country and we are heading for the remaining two years of this Administration.  Because the Republican Party has no plan but to destroy the Democratic Party and it's Barack Obama, not to address policy issues facing this Nation. The GOP has lost their way... sadly.

Anything that is derived from success has been a result of some struggle and sacrifices made along the way.

Remember the same politicians who claim they're for the people had 10 years 2 under the Clinton Administration and 6 years under the Bush Administration to create a health care bill, and maintain a surplus in 2000 when they did have a mandate, but they literally robbed the US Treasury drove it straight into the ground by 2008.

People, we may be hurting but we are not stupid, sometimes we like to forget those things that seek to harm our way of life, but it's was'nt President Obama.  He was ridiculed from the very start of his campaign to become President since Rev. Jeremiah Wright til now... hasn't stopped yet! 

This 112th, 113th, now 114th Congress hasn't accomplished anything spent more time on recess than the past  majority leaders - Republican Congress are running against themselves about past policies created and deficit spending,  continued resolutions one after the other, and they made a mockery while President Bush was in office there were no deficit hawks prior to rush to go into IRAQ!

The TARP bailout came under the Bush Administration during the lame duck period right before November election in 2008, and everybody who should have been indicted on criminal charges, and because everybody agreed to a smooth transistion of power; Attorney General Holder let them walk instead prosecute Wallstreet, or former VP Cheney.

But,

They relied on light turnout from the progressives, and other minorities, and the disappointed independent voters to win this mid-term election to gain subpoena power to begin a dog hunt similar to

the Monica Lewinsky debacle that tied up the Clinton Administration last 4 years in legalities and scandal.

We've all as a body of people different races and cultures in our country consider ourselves

 " One Nation Under GOD,"  well then consider this...

Philippians 4 distinctly recites if we are under the authority of GOD know this;

4:6 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.

4:7 And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

4:9 And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things.

And the God of peace will be with you.

Cast your Vote in every election no matter where you stand for let's begin to walk as
 "One Nation Under GOD"

THE TRUE MEANING OF LOVE - GOD BLESS THE CHILD THAT'S GOT HIS/ER OWN (LOVE)

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

- Corinthians 13:4-7

This is a description of Agape Love. It is described as being patient, kind, truthful, unselfish, trusting, believing, hopeful, and enduring. It is not jealous, boastful, arrogant, rude, selfish, or angry. True love never fails. The description perfectly fits God's love toward us, and should be the way we love each other and God. However, I have never met any person who perfectly fulfills this biblical definition of love. The Bible says that this unconditional love is more important than everything else (a partial list includes oratory ability, prophecy, knowledge, faith, philanthropy and hope). All of these things, which are "good" things, will pass away. Only love is eternal, since love will be the basis of eternal life. In fact, when Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, He said, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND." (Matthew 22:37)10 He then added that the second most important law was "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Jesus said that the entire law was dependent upon these two commandments

The most famous biblical chapter on love is from 1 Corinthians:

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:1-13)

Divided America

Take time before you speak to understand the power you hold as insignificant as you may think your words may come across to whatever group of people you hang out with and value your opinion{s}. Be mindful that when you prophesy or project negative words turn it around. It's just this simple if you can't say anything nice; don't say nothing at all.

Speak life into life, stop hating long enough to listen and discern what makes sense vs. what is just mean spirited; ignorance; and wasted energy. These are the same folks who say they are Pro Life, but want wars to go on in countries where children are in the direct line of fire. In the mid-east where history was born. These are the people who believe in the same Jesus I believe in yet they forget is last commandment "

Please Reconsider this hateful gesture of destroying any Holy Book associated with any religion. 

 Lets try RESPECT for ONE ANOTHER instead.

They had 10 years of tax cuts to create a better Economic Structure in this country instead they created a mess a National Debt our Great, great grandchildren will inherit if we continue w/their tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans... Greenspan said 2010 on Meet the Press to David Gregory the government should [Tax cuts] "let them expire. So when will we realize the cupcake is all gone pudding cup is empty. It replaced the old house phone and your desk top, laptops many are disposal and cheaper to get one now with a Data Plan competing for your business & services. 

 While the poorest people spend money trying to be rich. Rich hold on to money most millionaires rarely travel with large or great amounts of cash for that very reason. They sign their name. So, my point [It] the profits from tax cuts trickles down and runs out right about at their Mid level management... (maybe their Personal asst receives a bonus?)

No jobs are being offered to rebuild a 21st century infrastructure; a better rail system in effort to combat climate change and a cleaner more efficient energy.  Most small banks have been acquired by the largest banks no lenders sponsoring ideas anymore for the little guy; or small tiny corporations but the bigger corporations survive by shipping jobs offshore hiding their profits in Sweden or Cayman Islands lobbying Congress and writing their bills to pass in a Divided House of Cards!

Debate is healthy when you debate facts surrounding problems in order to achieve a common goal that benefits all not just a few. America is a land full of immigrants and most of these people against immigration and President Obama neglect this fact now they're flaming more division by talking of repealing the 14th Amendment. GOD is all over our pledge of allegiance, Declaration of Independence; Constitution, and saved the best for last our Money "In GOD We Trust," So hateful speeches and puppet dolls dangling to disrespect our President and withholding a congressional vote in order to benefit only 1 group of individuals. I was listening to the figures of what the companies would have to pay based on profit level of small business $400 million pays $12k more in taxes once tax cuts expire so they rather see this country collapse instead of vote to give small businesses help which would help the really small businesses 1 man entrepreneurs hire helpers who take money directly to retailers for cars, clothes, this is the average worker the major consumer's. Sending jobs overseas is their policy in order to give away $millions in bonuses yet they upset about paying higher taxes, I'm struggling to get to work pay check to paycheck living in a small room. But I thank GOD for it as if it were a mansion and will continue to give Him all honor. I learned my lesson about being humble, and controlling the words the flow out of mouth, and better than that how I treat and approach others. That's not easy everyday. I still cuss... All kidding aside. So this might seem preachy, political, and OMG how dare she go there to those who know me but if you live long enough you pray hard enough GOD can and will change your life if you really seek to serve Him, I'm always praying for Him to keep me humble enough to be lead and taught by good leaders raised up by Him. That I have the strength to come under authority let somebody love me and take some risk by faith, speak life into your life and the lives of others stop being so hateful if you can't help a brother out as a hand up don't comment ~ and for those who feel pitiful or pity others stop that, speak life over that person, you too are highly favored and truly blessed even when you can't see it! Doesn't mean I trust every human being that crosses my path but I can be more patient and understanding while they are journeying onward and if I can assist in anyway be willing if GOD makes me able or given me enough to do the right by others. A hand up not a hand out.. theirs a difference.


Current Events dictates the day, were have we evolved as a country when a man like Glen Beck can get almost est. 500 thousand people at a rally to do what the Klan did for years hide behind Religion to rationalize their sick ass behavior and once again we're suppose to taste sugar but it's shit. Sorry no other way to put that I've heard worse. Anyway don't sleep on these people their are driven just like those irate terrorist overseas and they wanted the war with radical Islam fought in the Middle east but if they continue on this path the level of hatred will penetrate behind our Freedom. Perplexing isn't it how can a land of free people stoop so low. Somebody should say something because somethings terribly wrong with our family. This is the 21st century. the 50's and 60's, 70's~1999 was a 20th century world. Trickle down economics have only brought +1million dollar$ bonuses for the corporate middle executives who manage to trick the investor's whose money lost in deals gone bad. Wake up, the real small entrepreneur is suffering now hand to mouth basically, going under while the only people who've managed to receive the stimulus funds are large banks, and major corp who've bounced back even paid their debt, where's the real STIMULUS JOBS, small business men need that vote to pass today..,. Trickle down for 10 years lost more jobs in this USA economy then back in late 20 century post President Clinton era from surplus +++ to heavy debt burden over 10 year Bush Admin not to mention two wars we basically funded without any help from our allies minimal to see a VP leave office 99 million dollars richer due to his affiliations w/ corporations who profit from conflicts and resolution nation building.

Let's get real Katrina victims still living in FEMA homes and we still building 1 nation in ME and Republicans, and tea party drinkers it's Jim Jones juice made a comeback.. Seriously, they don't want to let the tax cuts for the rich expire so they're holding up the STIMULUS money already accounted for under the "Stimulus dollars" from 2009 for small business it's an election season people stand for something or fall hard I mean hard if those types get power of House.

I’m definitely a 20th Century bred lady of the 21st century but some things you just miss or wish that you’d get to experience more of and for me it would be going out on a regular date; not a booty call. When the gentleman arrives (date) he brings a small token of appreciation for accepting the invitation like a bottle of wine, flowers, or sweets food is foreplay. The woman is dressed up sexy enough with mystery lurking to keep him wanting more. It would depend on what you like but for me it’s always roses & wine. Then for a first date I would love to either meet at a restaurant but if it’s the first on 20th date I want my companion for the evening to pull my chair act like he’s out with a lady. Stand up for me you know its corny now. But to me this kind of Chivalry is rarely seen in Men under 35 so it’s not dead among certain men who still remember passes along the old rules; LOL, and recently during a discussion some remarks were made about women over 40 and how we whine or only want to hash out bitter experiences. To my Girls over 40 you know that’s So not true the next twenties are the forties dude! And I’m heading forward toward Fabulous!!!! 50.

But, you still reminisce about the mystery and the romance if you have a memory of being treated that way. Men didn’t mind spending money on a date; the powder room cost you at least $20. A date… I actually got a proposal of marriage in a 5* restaurant once the evening still lives on it was magic!. It was so, so romantic the Matre’d brought the ring after the last course.. So sweet! We have a beautiful son 24yrs old. It will always be a memorable date and of course I’ll never forget that particular evening. But why don’t you still like to dress up and go out on the town not expecting to score big but just to enjoy an evening and impress the “Special Lady friend,” and on getting to know dates would you offer to pay cab rides or open doors for your date? Okay the economy is the best answer to all of that, but before that.. think back?

Here’s the priceless Kiss the hand, following it up with a compliment. Send me flowers damn it! Women like them all the time not just on Valentines day. Men can get creative when it comes to dating. And that’s how I’ll drop it on you in this 21st Century style of dating is highly competitive. Men have been cursed with a temptation revealed in prophesy if you understand cause and effect..

Is Chivalry dead or is it still romantic to be chivalrous? Sounds like a movie but guys did act like that once upon a time……….. And scored! I mean all the way.

Most clergy and religious scholars point to the symbolism and truth but pray for "revelation knowledge of the scriptures the Gospel of Jesus Christ then do the work, research watch GOD perform a revelation in your life! 

Use Caution: Be careful how you pray and what you ask GOD for, because the tongue is powerful resource too. Discernment knowing your wants (free will) from your needs. He'll help you in need, (the desires of your heart) and cover you in during your foolishness. It's Not magic it's called having a love of self. I remember watching the notebook and enjoying that whole movie from beginning to end and watched with a man I truly loved, can’t express how it moved me at the end. She was his queen until the very end and what "GOD has joined together let no man pull asunder…  God designed all of this and we all are equally guilty of sin if you stole a Bic lighter or ink pen from work without asking, sorry it's called stealing... Then maybe if you pray hard enough you might be able to buy a clue. Man is creating the rules as he trudges onward but you can’t live in this world and not see this time. Too much reality shows and too many damn rights and not enough wrongs! Where are those who are ready to really get it together. I’m no homophobic person just believe in the laws of nature. Taste! The fruit enjoy, but at the end of the day know who you really are! Whoever you are if your committed work hard at staying committed.. temptation makes it hard at times love one person.
